Tim Heidecker is an actor, comedian, musician, writer and director. He is one half of the comedy team of Tim and Eric. Tim, along with Eric Wareheim, created the television shows “Tom Goes to the Mayor”, “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!”, and “Tim and Eric’s Bed Time Stories”. He is also the creator and lead in the television shows “Decker” and “On Cinema”. “On Cinema” is now in its ninth season which will be released on Adult Swim and YouTube on March 6th, 2017.

Tim has also made music a vital part of his career. He released “In Glendale”, his first solo album and most straightforward set of songs yet, in 2016.

Sean Fracek and Jacob Woelfel were extremely honored to have the chance to interview Tim on his upcoming projects and the early days. Tim shares his experience with the short film festival in L.A. Channel 101, where he and Eric Wareheim would create short films and compete against other creators such as Dan Harmon, Justin Roiland (creators of the “Rick and Morty” television show), and Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg, and Jorma Taccone from the Lonely Island.

We also discussed his cameo in the “Portlandia” episode entitled “Ants” and his relationship with the actors and creators of the series. We discuss his current focus on music and how this ties into his comedy. Tim also shares his views on religion and why he identifies he is an agnostic/atheist. We are huge fans of Tim Heidecker and had a lot of fun with this interview. Don’t miss it!

The Gospel of Atheism and Freethought According to Michael Sherlock

michale sherlock.jpg

Michael Sherlock on the Mythicist Milwaukee Show

Michael A. Sherlock is an atheist author who, was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, and spent many years in Tasmania. He studied social Anthropology and Sociology, Political Science, and Law at the University of Tasmania and became fascinated by the myths of our ancient ancestors. This fascination led him to study comparative mythology, which in turn led him to investigate the non-Judaic origins of the Bible.

Sherlock's aim as an author is to expose the "sacred" lies, frauds and forgeries of religion. Sherlock says: "Before we can clear a path to finding truth, whatever that may be, we must first neutralize the filth which has infected the minds of so many...supernaturalism, superstition, pseudo-science, and religion, all embody this mental filth, and the scientific method, with its humble, honest and evidence-based approach to questions of probable truth, represents the neutralizer." He is the author of the 3 part book series “I am Christ”, and “The Gospel of Atheism and Freethought: according to Sherlock”. His new book is entitled “Blasphemy” and was published by our friends at Atheist Republic.

Michael takes us through some of his new book and explains why he states “ISIS is Islam or Islamism”. He also explains what the “atheist atrocity fallacy” is and why it is used to make atheism look like a negative ideology. We put to bed the nasty and very false accusation made by CJ Werleman that Michael Sherlock influenced the Chapel Hill shooter to kill three Muslims over a parking spot, because the Chap Hill shooter liked Michael’s Facebook page. We cover all of this and more! Don’t miss this interview!

Listen to the full interview in the microphone box below

Since their launch in 2010, their members have saved a children's home in Nepal from dissolution, funded science education in India and in US public schools, have supported efforts to fight global warming and protect biodiversity, opened a new school for girls in Pakistan and funded a four-year college scholarship for indigenous Guatemalans.

The above mentioned is just an abbreviated version of what the foundation has achieved. The list of incredible accomplishments and efforts to help in developing countries with education, food, drinking water, housing etc. goes on and on. They are also advocates and promoters of LGBT and women’s rights and have showcased this in many projects all around the world, including helping the women in Ghana by challenging the “witch camps” and providing shelter for women who have been affected by this unimaginable scenario.

Their mission is backed by a brilliant phrase stating “there's no supernatural power to make this world a better place. It's up to us. Foundation Beyond Belief is humanity at work.”

Rebecca and the Humanist Disaster Recovery team will be going to assist in rebuilding efforts in the Columbia, South Carolina area following the flooding of earlier in 2015. The deployment will be from January 2-9, 2016. They currently have about five volunteer positions open for this effort. For more information or to sign up checkout this link.

Please think about making a donation to Foundation Beyond Belief and becoming a member. The foundation is doing amazing and much needed work around the globe and 100% of the donations go directly to those in need. You can also pick and choose which charity will receive your donation. If you donate in December of 2015, your donation will be matched by the Bella and Stella Foundation which means your donation will be doubled. Their current goal is $100,000 and you can also win some great prizes and takeaways from donating. Let’s help them try to achieve this and give back to those in need without the proselytization of any doctrine or faith!

Atheists In Kenya w/ Harrison Mumia

Harrison Mumia joins us on the Mythicist Milwaukee Show

Harrison Mumia is the President of Atheists In Kenya (AIK), the most vibrant atheists movement in Kenya.

Atheists In Kenya's mission is to promote the growth and interaction of atheists in Kenya. Harrison has debated at numerous forums in Kenya including the University of Nairobi debate, titled "Does God Exist?".

He has extensively written articles about atheism, religion and secularism both in Kenyan print and on the atheists in Kenya website, as well as google groups and blogs. He has also made several appearances on NTV, KTN, Nation FM, QFM, Family Radio and KBC, which are all mainstream TV and Radio stations in Kenya, discussing issues revolving around secularism, atheism and religion in Kenya.

Listen to the interview here------->

Born in 1978, in Nairobi, Harrison Mumia completed his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 2003 at the Jomo Kenyatta University, Kenya. He is currently working with the Central Bank of Kenya as a Corporate Communications Manager. He is also pursuing a Masters in Corporate Communications at the Daystar University.

Through his experience as a leading atheist in Kenya, Mumia has worked together with local secular groups to push for a total separation of religion and state in Kenya. His articles have elicited public debate in the areas of religious education in public schools, preaching in public space especially in public transport vehicles and the authenticity of miracles by religious leaders. Inspired by atheists like Richard Dawkins, the late Christopher Hitchens, Mumia is committed to promoting secularism in Kenya.

Today, more than 80 percent of the 46 million residents of Kenya are Christian. The remaining 20 percent of the country is a combination of Islam, Hinduism and traditionalists. And the word “atheist” is one rarely uttered by your average Kenyan.

In Kenya, religious indoctrination and adherence to the Abrahamic faiths is deeply engrained into the culture. Children pray in public schools and orphanages, prayer takes place in the workplace, and Christian beliefs and practices are preached on all of the major Kenyan media outlets on a daily basis. One visit to the country and experiencing the culture may leave the impression that there is no hope for secularism here.

This is where Harrison Mumia and the Atheists in Kenya group come in. Mumia is pioneering the unthinkable. He is taking on the overwhelming task of challenging the religious privilege by promoting secular and humanist values. Mumia and his team are openly secular and have appeared on many of the Kenyan media outlets, including the major newspaper and morning talk shows. They are working hard to bring many of the secular "firsts" to Kenya including the first ever atheist conference, atheist billboards, debates and much more. They are a shining beacon of hope for secular ideals in a country that is grossly indoctrinated into a religion that was forced upon their country.
