The Gospel of Atheism and Freethought According to Michael Sherlock

Michael Sherlock on the Mythicist Milwaukee Show

Michael A. Sherlock is an atheist author who, was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, and spent many years in Tasmania. He studied social Anthropology and Sociology, Political Science, and Law at the University of Tasmania and became fascinated by the myths of our ancient ancestors. This fascination led him to study comparative mythology, which in turn led him to investigate the non-Judaic origins of the Bible.

Sherlock's aim as an author is to expose the "sacred" lies, frauds and forgeries of religion. Sherlock says: "Before we can clear a path to finding truth, whatever that may be, we must first neutralize the filth which has infected the minds of so many...supernaturalism, superstition, pseudo-science, and religion, all embody this mental filth, and the scientific method, with its humble, honest and evidence-based approach to questions of probable truth, represents the neutralizer." He is the author of the 3 part book series “I am Christ”, and “The Gospel of Atheism and Freethought: according to Sherlock”. His new book is entitled “Blasphemy” and was published by our friends at Atheist Republic.

Michael takes us through some of his new book and explains why he states “ISIS is Islam or Islamism”. He also explains what the “atheist atrocity fallacy” is and why it is used to make atheism look like a negative ideology. We put to bed the nasty and very false accusation made by CJ Werleman that Michael Sherlock influenced the Chapel Hill shooter to kill three Muslims over a parking spot, because the Chap Hill shooter liked Michael’s Facebook page. We cover all of this and more! Don’t miss this interview!

During this interview Allie discusses the Atheist Republic consulate initiative that offers a safe haven for secular individuals around the world. She also discusses the work that Atheist Republic is doing to support the secular individuals in Bangladesh, which has been a very dangerous place for atheists bloggers in the wake of the brutal murders that have taken place. Allie discusses how everyone can help change the stigma that is tied to the word "atheist" and how and why people should get involved. We talk about the above mentioned items and so much more.

Like Allie and Atheist Republic, we at Mythicist Milwaukee want to create an open and inviting environment for atheists and nonbelievers, too, through the work of our Mythinformation Conference - coming up on September 26.
